Introduction
Course Details
Our 4 day accredited IWCF Level 2 Well Intervention Pressure Control training develops and builds an understanding of well intervention pressure control for those in roles contributing to the creation, detection or control of a well influx.
This Well Intervention Pressure Control Level 2 course is customised to cater to those working with appropriate monitoring as operators (eg Floorhand, Motorhand, Derrickhand). Focused on knowledge in Wireline, Coiled Tubing or Snubbing Operations, this IWCF Well Intervention course includes both compulsory and optional modules and is relevant to those working in other roles that may contribute to the creation, detection or control of an unplanned well influx during live well intervention work.
In line with International Well Control Forum standards our training ensures you not only acquire the theoretical principles of Well Intervention Pressure Control but are able to put these principles into action through real-life hands-on scenarios using our state of the art simulation-based learning.
The IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control course includes compulsory and optional course elements as follows
Completion Operations:
- Well Intervention Pressure Control incidents
- Well Integrity assurance including pressure monitoring, risk management, management of change, control drills and well handover
- Well control hydrostatic, formation and fracture pressure
- Barrier management, verification, inflow and equipment testing
- Shut-in procedures
- Well kill methods
Completion Equipment:
- Introduction to well completion
- Wellhead and tube hanger
- Tubing, flow couplings and tubing movement
- Safety valves
- Flow control devices
- Packers and equipment
- Landing nipples, plugs and WEGS
Optional Contents addressing application, equipment, barriers, pressure control and operations:
- Wireline Operations
- Coiled Tubing Operations
- Snubbing Operations
To successfully complete this course, you are assessed on both compulsory components and one or more of the optional components identified above.
Once you successfully complete this course, you’ll receive a certificate. It is an IWCF certificate of completion that is valid for 5 years.
Successful completion of the assessment at the end of the course is based on achieving a 70%pass mark.
