Introduction
White Card Training is an induction health and safety course required prior to you working safely in the construction industry or as part of construction activities in other industries. It is also recommended if you have had a 2yrs, or more, gap from construction site activities. We provide CSQ funding for this training course – subject to you meeting eligibility criteria
White Card Training is a general health and safety training course to introduce you to your obligations and required knowledge to work more safely and help prevent injury or harm to yourself and others. During the White Card Training you will learn how to identify and report common construction hazards, understand basic risk control measures, and the procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
At Harness, we deliver this course in person to ensure you get the most out of the training and are not simply ‘ticking a box’ – we take your safety seriously – and the engaging method of delivery will help you be safer at work as you learn from an instructor we have chosen due to their in-depth understanding of the environment you will be working in.

Course Details
With multi-industry application, this white card training is an important course and pre-requisite for entry level positions within construction related activities. It is also required for any you if you construction sites as part of your work.
White Card training covers the following key topics including; How to Identify workplace health and safety requirements of construction industry, common construction hazards and risk control measures, relevant health and safety communication and reporting processes and identifying incident and emergency response procedures.

If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a certificate which indicates the Statement of Attainments as recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This is a nationally recognised certification. The Statement is issued by us, Harness Energy (RTO 40521).
The White Card Training ‘Statement of attainment’ is for the Nationally Accredited Units of Competency:
- CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
The Certificate is usually needed as evidence for your employer for safety and compliance requirements.
NOTE: CPCWHS1001 Supersedes and is equivalent to CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
Course Requirements
No Course pre-requisities apply. Minimum age for White card is 13yrs old. Please note this is a classroom based training course. Also review the important requirements applicable to all courses.

Yes it is. The current name for White Card is CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. White card was the previously known name and thus the name that has stuck!
It is also relevant to industries and roles outside general construction but who undertake construction activities.
A White card, the General Construction Induction Card, is accepted across Australia. It is the most current version of induction training for this construction industry.
The white card does not have an expiry date – however, recommendations do exist depending on your role and industry. It is also recommended if you have had a gap from construction industry of 2 yrs or more.
