Introduction
This drilling focused qualification follows on from the combined well servicing/drilling foundation Certificate II course. The Certificate III Drilling Oil and Gas has been designed to reflect the role of a Derrickhand who is an essential part of the drilling crew and assists in various operation being carried out. This qualification reflects the requirements of those wanting to progress to Assistant Driller roles.
This qualification will suit a range of needs including:
- Assists in developing a broad range of skills in a wide variety of operations‚ which includes selecting equipment, maintaining the drilling fluid and pumps.
- Tailor made and designed self paced workbooks providing critical theoretical knowledge and on the job training.
- National Accreditation that is recognised all around Australia and meets legislative competency requirements to work on a rig.
- Dedicated support from accredited Harness Trainer/Assesors.
- Those working in the industsry and keen to build capability to be considered for promotional opportunities.

Course Details
This course covers all core safety and operational aspects as well as equipment, casing and mud pump related units as part of the 10 required core units. In addition, Harness have tailored this qualification to include 4 key drilling areas of focus including drilling fluid systems, blow-out prevention procedures and control practices for coal seam gas. Integral to this course is derrick operations from planning, handling and executing through to rig down.

No course pre-requisites apply. You will need Internet access and a computer for this qualification.
