Frequently Asked Questions
Anyone who works at height and may need to respond to an emergency scenario – this is particularly relevant if you are remote and emergency services not readily available. Heights Rescue training would be valuable for industries such as Energy such as renewables, electricity, mining oil, gas and construction. Unfortunately, incidents at height continue to happen and therefore the need to respond and help in an emergency situation do too.
This heights rescue training course has broader application than the vertical rescue training course. Vertical rescues involve more complex rescue situations such as cliffs and challenging natural structures whereas this heights rescue course is more focused on vertical structures such as towers and ladders.
This is a specialist skill set and the fundamental techniques are taught during this heights rescue course. It is not advised to undertake heights rescues without this kind of training as a minimum because of the specialist equipment involved
This course utilises training that you will have previously learnt during these courses, from assessing initial vital signs of a casualty through to how to put on a harness. While this course will support refresher knowledge acquisition – including heights related aspects – it is not the focus on this training course to re-teach CPR techniques and first aid. The course is more focused on the application of these fundamental skills for a real life emergency.
